Slogans from the mouth of the Devil

The advertising industry is the great, insidious force of the times, constantly trying to implant values and manipulate thoughts. The slogans themselves seem to flow straight from the mouth of the Devil's advocate. This series is a lone shout back at the machine.

The Pepsi "Live for Now" slogan also gave me a good laugh.  It's like oh come on:  you are trying to equate sugar water with some bubbles to freedom and liberation.  Don't get me wrong I am not against selling stuff here but I think they need to remember what they are selling here and stop making it something it clearly isn't.   I chose lee Harvey Oswald as the pitch man because he is the quintessential live for now type of guy.

The first time I saw the Reebok commercial it literally turned my stomach.  Be more human? fucking please!  Neo-slaves are making your shoes.  the sad part is I don't think most Americans give a crap but one must try.

The I'm loving it campaign got me thinking.  What are they loving exactly: Good food? Good employee pay and bennies? People's health? The environment's health?  None of the above, Ronald McDonald quite simply loves his immunity to all the harm he has caused over the years.

Then there is the "Chevy Runs Deep."  A couple of years ago it was revealed in court documents that Chevy deemed it was cheaper to deal with lawsuits than to fix their cars and these were defects that were causing deaths.  So Chevy runs deep.  Indeed they do. Six feet deep.
